This wasn’t supposed to be a painting. The intention was to make something, maybe more of a collage, that catalogued or captured my visual language and all of my interests in order to assist in writing a verbal artist statement and better ability to talk about my work.
Which, I don’t want to do…Art is visual for a reason. I didn’t talk much at all in middle and high school…got a little better by the time I graduated college.
It’s turned into a painting. I took lots more chances with the conception of this piece than most other paintings. I had no plan for a composition and didn’t really think about it initially but started to create relationships and moments within the picture plane as space was becoming more crowded.
It’s possible I post too many in progress or experimental images, but that is part of the reason why I maintain this blog, as a form of documentation.
Thank you and have an amazing day 🙂
